The University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, Australia has the privilege of hosting TechTrain 2003 at the Kensington campus. TechTrain 2003 is a national conference for, and organised by, the technical staff of Australian Universities. Recent conferences have been held at the University of Technology, Sydney (2000), the University of Queensland (2001), and the University of Western Sydney (2002). TechTrain 2004 is planned for Adelaide (SA).

The venue chosen is The Scientia, Sydney's newest Function and Conference Centre. It is a shining example of modern architectural design melded into nature.

The chosen theme this year is SOLUTIONS. The technical staff of Australian Universities are constantly coming up with solutions to the teaching and research challenges they face. The five topics chosen this year are :
